November 3rd, 2008. Remember? In the middle of the night, Jason surprised us with an original song. It was called "Sweet Medicine", and it was beautiful. From that moment, we've been anxiously awaiting his music..his debut album. And we've been patient.
Most of us have had Tuesday, November 17 marked on our calendars since the date it was first announced. Many fans even requested time off from work to attend CD release parties and to celebrate, in general, the arrival of Jason's first album on the Atlantic Records label. It was so close we could almost reach out and touch it.
This evening, Jason posted the following update on his official site:
I previously told you that the album would be out in November, but it’s going to be early next year instead. As much as I can't wait to get my music out there, I really don't want to rush anything either.
I have to be honest, my stomach sank when I read it. I was disappointed.
On the other hand, I would rather wait for a product that he believes in than settle for something done "half ass" to meet a deadline. We've waited this long, what's another couple of months? I've also found that passing the time is a little easier knowing that he's on the road promoting the project he's worked so diligently on and that there's a chance our paths will cross while he's at it.
And so we wait. As his devoted have done since the American Idol tour ended in September of last year. There's no way we'd give up on him now. We believe in him too much.

Thanks, I really needed this little reminder. Of course we'll wait coz above all else we are devoted.

Do we know why? My guess is it's because the Heavy Steadies recorded the album and uh...well they aren't his band anymore. So -- off to re-record the entire album with his current band. Big bummer and very poor planning.
